Zach Clark

PhD Candidate

Zach is a PhD candidate conducting genetic research on Great White Sharks (Carcharodon carcharias). Zach is working closely with the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries to address key knowledge gaps around white shark population structure, diet and biotic factors influencing near shore visitation. Zach will be using a range of molecular genetic techniques including DNA metabarcoding to determine the diets; and eDNA paired with qPCR to improve the accuracy of monitoring and detection of White Sharks. In addition he will use population genomics to assess the population genetic structure and patterns of relatedness among Australian east coast white sharks
